# Salesforce to monday.com Migration

Canonical: https://www.taskrhino.ca/data-migration/salesforce-to-monday/

> Move from Salesforce to monday.com: records, relationships, activities and files move, flows are rebuilt as automations, and you see what cannot move.

We move your accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, activities and files from Salesforce into monday CRM, keep the links between them, and rebuild your flows and reports in monday.com. Before anything moves, you get a written list of what moves, what we rebuild and what cannot move.

## Why Teams Move from Salesforce to monday.com

The reasons are rarely one feature: licence costs at renewal, small changes that need an admin or a consultant, and sales reps working around the CRM instead of in it. Our articles on the [hidden costs of Salesforce admin and consulting](https://www.taskrhino.ca/salesforce-alternatives/hidden-costs/), [signs your CRM needs an IT team](https://www.taskrhino.ca/salesforce-alternatives/complexity/) and [user adoption](https://www.taskrhino.ca/salesforce-alternatives/user-adoption/) go into each one.

monday.com suits teams that want sales, onboarding and delivery on one platform their own people can change. ## What Moves, What We Rebuild, What Cannot Move

Salesforce separates data, which its Data Export Service writes out as CSV files, from customizations, which are metadata. Data moves; customizations are rebuilt in monday.com.

## How the Migration Runs

Every step is agreed with you before the next one starts.

### Free assessment

We look at your objects, record counts, files and automations, and send a fixed quote with the list of what moves, what we rebuild and what cannot move.

### Data map

Each Salesforce object becomes a board and each field a column of the right type. You sign off the map, including which old fields to leave behind.

### Test migration

We move a sample of accounts with their contacts, opportunities, notes and files, and you check them in monday.com.

### Full migration and rebuild

We run the full export with files included, load every record, link them, and rebuild your flows as automations and your reports as dashboards.

### Checks and handover

We compare record counts object by object, walk your team through the new boards, and hand the export files over to you.

## When Salesforce Is Still the Right Call

Moving is not always the answer. Stay on Salesforce, or plan the move carefully, if:

- **Your process lives in Apex or Visualforce.** Custom code does not move and has to be redesigned.
- **You depend on AppExchange products** such as CPQ or industry clouds that have no counterpart in monday.com.
- **Other systems read Salesforce in real time** and cannot be repointed yet. monday.com has a Salesforce two-way sync app for a staged move.

The assessment tells you which of these apply before you commit.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Can we use monday.com’s Salesforce integration instead?

monday.com’s Salesforce two-way sync app keeps data in step between the two systems. Its own documentation says it has no import function, and lookup fields arrive as text. It works for a staged move; a full migration still needs the records, links, notes and files moved.

### Why not just import the Salesforce CSV files into monday.com?

The Excel import takes up to 8,000 rows (first 50 columns) into a new board and 10,000 rows into an existing board, cannot fill the Updates section, and only fills some column types. Links between records, notes and files need the monday.com API, which is what we use.

### Do our notes and activity history keep their dates?

Yes. Notes are posted as updates with their original creation date, and tasks and events keep their due and completed dates in date columns.

### What happens to our Salesforce flows and reports?

They are metadata, not data, so no export carries them. We list each one in the assessment and rebuild the ones you still need as monday.com automations and dashboards.

### How much does it cost?

It depends on your objects, record counts, files and automations. The assessment is free and ends with a fixed quote.
