## When Smartsheet Is Still the Right Call

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Can I move Smartsheet to monday.com myself?

monday.com has no built-in Smartsheet import. A sheet exported to Excel can be imported, but dropdown, contact, checkbox and symbol columns arrive as text, child rows arrive as plain items, and attachments are not in the export.

### Do comments and attachments move?

Smartsheet's Excel export puts comments on a separate tab and leaves attachments out; a sheet backup holds the files uploaded to the sheet. We copy comments into the item's updates and the files into a Files column. Files linked from cloud drives stay links.

### What happens to our automations, views and forms?

No export carries them. We list each one in the assessment and rebuild the ones you still need as monday.com automations, views, forms and dashboards.

### What cannot be moved?

Cell history: An import can't write monday.com's activity log; it starts on the day of the move. Everything else in the table above either moves or is rebuilt in monday.com.

### How long does it take?

It depends on how many sheets and items you have, how many files, and how much needs rebuilding. The dates are fixed in your quote after the free assessment.
