monday.com Forms: WorkForms Features, Limits and Workarounds

monday.com WorkForms is the quickest way to get requests, intake details and client data onto a board. It is also where many teams hit their first hard limit: one board per form, a new item for every submission, and key features reserved for Enterprise. This hub gathers our guides on what WorkForms can do on each plan and how to get the rest.

What This Hub Covers

A form looks simple until it has to do real work. A client needs to correct a submission, a field should only appear for some answers, one request should land on two boards, or a long form needs to be saved and finished later. Each of those runs into a WorkForms limit, and the limits differ between the Standard, Pro and Enterprise plans.

Our forms articles start with what monday.com offers natively, then show the workarounds and, where native features cannot get there, how BoardBridge by TaskRhino handles it on any plan. New to monday.com itself? Read our guide to monday.com features, pricing and setup. When a form needs a custom app or integration, see our custom monday.com builds.

Frequently Asked Questions About monday.com Forms

Can a monday.com form update an existing item?

Not with a standard WorkForm: every submission creates a new item. Enterprise accounts can turn on Edit Form Responses, which allows up to 10 edits per submission. Our guides show how to update existing items on any plan.

Does monday.com support conditional logic in forms?

Yes. A WorkForm can show a follow-up question based on a single-select, multi-select or true/false answer, and monday.com lists no plan restriction for it. Rules combine with OR only, so showing a question only when two answers both match needs a workaround. See conditional logic without Enterprise.

Can one monday.com form write to more than one board?

No. A WorkForm writes each submission to one board. Our multiple-boards guide explains why, and what happens when you chain automations to copy the data on.

Can I pre-fill a monday.com form?

monday.com has two pre-fill sources: URL parameters on Pro and Enterprise, and account data for signed-in users on Enterprise only. Neither loads an item’s own column values, so pre-filling from item data, or any pre-fill on Standard, takes an app; our pre-fill guide compares the options.

Do form submissions use my automation quota?

Yes, when automations run on them. Every action an automation performs counts toward the monthly quota (Standard 250, Pro 25,000, Enterprise 250,000), and notifying board subscribers uses one action per person notified. Here is how to track and reduce it.
